Colin has appeared on many television shows beginning in 1999 on Postcards and the Channel Nine News for his outstanding Central Display and Show Garden at The Perth Flower and Garden Show located on The Esplanade.  His creative flair and talents were then on display as the garden makeover specialist' on the local lifestyle show on Channel Nine, Perth Style.

Colin is currently presenting Gardening @ Home, the gardening segment on Home in WA' shown on Saturdays on Channel 7 Perth and telecast state-wide on the Golden West Network. This dedicated segment for West Australian home gardeners began in 2005 and has developed a strong following with the viewers. His three daughters have appeared in several segments over the years, demonstrating how children can make a valuable contribution to gardening.

Gardening @ Home is a specialised segment within the very successful local television series, Home in WA. Shown on Channel Seven Perth at the regular time slot of 4:30pm on Saturday, it is also telecast state-wide on the Golden West Network (GWN).

Presented by Colin Barlow and Karin Pearson, Gardening @ Home provides consistent, expert advice for both new and experienced gardeners with a focus on sustainability including waterwise garden practices suited to West Australian conditions. This year there will be some great competitions that can save you money and help the environment at the same time.  Gardening @ Home will also show you how to grow your own delicious veggies and herbs, you can even get your kids or grandchildren to give you a hand. Some of the latest and most innovative gardening products and gadgets will be showcased to get you all excited about your garden.
