The director of Gardens from Eden, Colin Barlow is a passionate garden designer, horticulturist, lecturer, gardener and confessed plantaholic' who puts the fun back into gardening.

His wealth of gardening knowledge, extensive travel and media experience and sense of humour make him a sought after public speaker.

Whether it is a technical presentation for industry groups, an informative session for the public or presenting on live television, Colin can tailor his presentation to suit. His quick wit and botanical expertise make him a fountain of gardening knowledge that will get you wanting to burst out into the garden.

Colin is a sought after public speaker and regularly provides expert gardening advice in Perth and on the stage at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

As a qualified teacher he has lectured at the Challenger Institute of Technology in Perth for over 16 years and is regularly involved in horticultural media activities.  Colin is currently hosting a gardening segment each Saturday Gardening @ Home' on Home in WA' with Channel 7 Perth, occasionally presenting gardening talkback on Curtin FM radio and writing for The Have A' Go News' and previously The West Australian Gardener' magazine.

You may also find Colin sharing his unique knowledge of the magnificent Wildflowers of Western Australia on a tour by Ross Garden Tours throughout regional and outback Western Australia.

Colin's three daughters are following the gardening path' presenting gardening segments for kids at garden shows including the Melbourne international Flower and Garden Show, Garden Week and on television as the Gardening Gang' on Home in WA' on Channel Seven and Totally Wild' on Channel Ten. They also regularly write for the Garden Clinic' magazine.

Colin also provides quarterly practical seasonal gardening advice at Le Jardine de Rose' a French style rose garden situated at Melville Nurseries, 40 Masonmill Road, Carmel. The garden was designed by Gardens from Eden and constructed in conjunction with Melville Nurseries. The garden has previously been open as part of Australia's Open Garden Scheme.

Workshops are usually held in the first or second week of February, May, August and November providing practical tips and hands on gardening to help you maintain your own garden. Topics include pruning, planting, safe pest and disease control, fertilisers, wetting agents, soils and soil improvement, mulches, roses, growing vegetable and fruit and lots more.
