'Le Jardin de Rose' at Melville Nurseries, Carmel

Le Jardin de Rose' is a French style rose garden consisting of several rooms' and includes rose and wisteria covered pergolas, statuary, water features and a potager or vegetable garden.  Designed to cater for weddings, functions and special events, there is also a large lawn area surrounded with beautiful roses, perennials and annuals that are bordered with clipped Buxus, royena, Camellias and lilly pilly. 

A curving driveway leads to the top part of the garden, with purple plums, Photinias, perennials and roses drawing visitors onwards.  The top terrace includes a lawn area and courtyards dissected by a classic pergola and framed by pleached snow pears. Covered pergolas lead the visitor to framed vistas to delight the senses. 

An intricate parterre designed to be viewed from the top terraces is bordered in box with a central Formstone fountain and standard Angel Face' roses in the corners. A small adjacent courtyard is framed with beautiful balustrading and a wall fountain.

The romantic rose garden consists of several garden rooms' and includes delightful rose and Wisteria covered pergolas, classical statuary, water features and a potager or ornamental vegetable garden where colourful vegetables, herbs, roses and annuals and fruit are combined to not only be functional and practical but also look great.  A large central lawn area is surrounded with beautiful roses, perennials and annuals that are bordered with clipped Buxus, royena, Camellias and lilly pilly. 

Four curved love seats' planted with different plants to flower throughout the year allow those who sit there to be covered in beautiful blossom at almost any time during the year. Curved steps lead to a potager vegetable garden with colourful vegetables, herbs, roses and annuals and fruit combined to not only be functional and practical but also look great. Further additions to the garden are planned in forthcoming years.
