PFGS 1999. Career Path
This garden was designed by Colin Barlow of GFE and constructed with the help of students from The Challenger Institute of Technology. The aim of the garden was to promote horticulture as a career path with different facets highlighted including a bushland and rainforest garden, topiary, floristry and turf. A large working floral clock was emblazoned with the logo of the college and surrounded with colourful annuals. An ornate belltower, gazebo, classical urns, water features, bronze sculptures and marquee provided further interest with fibre optic lighting creating another dimension to the display at night. The garden was awarded a Gold Medal in the display garden category.
